Will Nickolson

 Currently I'm studying Information Systems Management and Japanese at Auburn University. Before starting my journey at Auburn, I attended Vestavia Hills High School and participated in Public Forum Debate, where I still contribute to the organization as a Judge for various tournaments. Once I got to Auburn, however, I decided that I should follow my passion for technology and declared my Major in Information Systems.

Ever since I decided on doing Information Systems, I’ve looked forward to learning tons of new things! My academic pursuits, when combined with my desire to learn, have equipped me with a great foundation in the field. As a the current Vice President and previous Technical Advisor for the Auburn Ethical Hacking club, as well as participating in other groups, I’ve gotten to practice what I’ve absorbed in real world scenarios. I’ve competed in CyberFire, War Driving competitions, weekly lectures about various Cyber topics, and SECCDC where I led our team to one of our best performances in 2025. To prepare for such tournaments, EHC has a Proxmox cluster where we implement small Corporate Environments across 5-8 machines running Linux/Windows. In addition, I've also been studying on TryHackMe to learn more with hands-on tasks. Through the site, I’ve gotten a foothold in the workings of Windows, Linux, and a multitude of applications/tools on both operating systems. Most recently, I passed the CompTIA Security+ exam, showing my progress in the field.
