What SENTINEL is

SENTINEL is a free public dashboard that aggregates open-source intelligence onto a 3D Earth. It is a tool for situational awareness, research, and education. It is not a defence intelligence product, a commercial weather service, an air-traffic-control system, or a decision system for life-safety operations. Treat what you see here the same way you would treat a Twitter timeline of OSINT accounts: useful, fast, sometimes wrong.

Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to create an account or to use the live globe. SENTINEL discusses real conflict, casualties, and military operations. If you are under 18 you must not use the site.

Your account

  • Sign-in is delegated to Google. The account email is your identity on the site.
  • You are responsible for the actions taken under your account.
  • One human, one account. Don't share credentials, don't operate as someone else.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, scraping, evasion of paid features, or activity that endangers other users (see Acceptable Use).

Pro subscription

  • Price. Listed on the site at the time of subscription. We may change pricing for new subscribers; existing subscribers are honoured at the price they signed up at until they cancel.
  • Billing. Stripe processes payment monthly. You authorise the recurring charge by completing checkout.
  • Cancellation. Anytime, via the MANAGE button in the header (Stripe billing portal). Access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Refunds. Within seven days of a renewal charge, request via email if you haven't actively used Pro features in that period; we'll process the refund without questions. Outside that window, refunds are at our discretion.

Acceptable use

  • No automated scraping, bulk extraction, or republishing of the data SENTINEL aggregates as if it were ours. The upstream sources own their content; respect their terms.
  • No reverse engineering of the Pro paywall. Pro is the income that pays the upstream API bills; bypassing it kills the project for everyone.
  • No using SENTINEL to dox, harass, or geolocate civilians. The site is for situational awareness, not for targeting individuals.
  • No using SENTINEL data as the sole basis for life-safety decisions. Always cross-reference an authoritative source (NOTAMs, official government advisories, the actual aviation authority for the airspace you're operating in, etc.).
  • No mirroring our front-end and serving it as your own product. Embedding individual links / sharing screenshots is fine and encouraged.
  • Standard prohibitions: no illegal use, no attacking the site, no malware, no spam, no impersonating the operator.

Data accuracy and disclaimers

SENTINEL aggregates from public open-source feeds. Those feeds are sometimes wrong, late, or censored at the source. Our classifiers and pattern detectors make confidence calls that may also be wrong. Specifically:

  • Aircraft positions can be delayed by several minutes, missing entirely in regions with poor ADS-B coverage, or spoofed (we filter spoofs aggressively, but not perfectly).
  • News and X / Telegram posts surfaced by our classifier are unverified at the moment of surfacing. We label confidence; we don't guarantee truth.
  • Pattern alerts (compound pre-strike, strategic airlift, etc.) are statistical signals, not predictions. They flag activity that statistically precedes events; they do not predict events.
  • Country dossier data is curated from public sources (Wikidata, Wikipedia, the World Bank, etc.) and may lag the real world by hours to weeks depending on the field.

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of fitness for any particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.

Intellectual property

  • The platform — code, design, classifiers, infrastructure — belongs to the operator (Will Nickolson / Axon).
  • The data displayed on the platform belongs to its upstream sources. We aggregate and present; we don't claim ownership.
  • Contributors who provide country-level data corrections are credited on the relevant country panel and in the changelog.

Service availability

We run SENTINEL on best-effort. The site has no SLA. We do our best to keep it up; we monitor continuously and act on outages quickly. We are not liable for downtime, missed alerts, delayed data, or any decision you make based on what was or wasn't on the site at any moment.

Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site, including loss of profits, data, or opportunity.

Termination

You can stop using SENTINEL at any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the service changes. Material changes are noted in the in-site changelog and dated at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept it; if you don't, cancel and email us to delete your account.
